Come and discover exciting creations with regional produce – grown by us and smart farming projects – that are both Hanseatic and cosmopolitan at the same time. Thomas Martin and his team will continue to interpret original French haute cuisine in their own inimitable way. The menu will be based on superior, regionally sourced products, prepared with precision and contemporary techniques.

The main product is the star, with appetising sauces to accompany it. The result is a dish bursting with taste.

Style of cuisine

The style of cuisine adopted by Jacob’s Restaurant is deliberately one of simplicity, or less is more, in stark contrast to current trends. The concept is to serve premium-quality food that guests can recognise at first glance. Thomas Martin's cuisine is not about abstract art or science, but about the ingredients' original taste.

“My dishes are a case of what you see is what you get, with full focus on the taste. Our vision is to concentrate on the essentials without any unnecessary frills. In the new Jacob’s Restaurant, guests will be able to experience simplicity at its best,” explains Thomas Martin.

“Simplicity at its best” is also the service team's slogan. Workflows are more natural and more relaxed, without compromising on high quality. "Our greatest strength is the warm and professional way we look after guests,” comments restaurant manager Niklas Griffin. The service team is now also supported by Thomas Martin and his chefs, who like nothing better than to serve the odd course occasionally in person.

Torsten Junker

Born near the Belgian border, Torsten is our drinks expert. In 2016 he was presented by Sommelier-Union Deutschland e. V. with the “Sommelier of the Year” title. But the greatest honour is when guests at Jacob’s Restaurant enthuse about his wine recommendations.

Thomas Martin

Born in Mannheim, Thomas Martin has been chef de cuisine at Jacob's Restaurant since 1997. Even after just under 20 years, he repeatedly finds new ways of teasing the maximum taste from the ingredients used. His down-to-earth, modest manner is similar to that of the locals.

Niklas Griffin

Since April 2017 Niklas Griffin is our restaurant manager. Before working at Jacobs Restaurant, he gained rich experience at MS EUROPA I + II and other restaurants. For the 27-year-old it is very important, that his guests feel comfortable and at home.

By car (from the A7 motorway)

  • Take the Hamburg / Othmarschen exit
  • Turn left into Walderseestraße
  • Turn left into Reventlowstraße which turns into Halbmondsweg and joins Elbchaussee
  • Turn right
  • After a short while along Elbchaussee, you’ll see Hotel Louis C. Jacob on your left
  • The entrance to the underground carpark with plenty of spaces is on Sieberlingstraße

By public transport

By Bus from Hauptbahnhof (main railway station) / town centre:
  • Take the express bus, no. 36 towards Blankenese and get off at Sieberlingstraße
By S-bahn from Hauptbahnhof / Altona railway station:
  • Take S-bahn 1 towards Blankenese / Wedel, get out at the Hochkamp stop
  • It's about 15 minutes’ walk from there
  • We’d be happy to organise a transfer for you by our limousine service
